Entering Indonesia

The four things every visitor must sort out before landing: visa, the All Indonesia arrival card, customs, and (for Bali) the tourist levy.

1. All Indonesia Arrival Card - mandatory and free

One online form that replaces the old immigration card, customs form (e-CD) and health form. Every arriving passenger needs it - foreign visitors AND Indonesians coming home, children included (one adult can file for the family; each person gets a QR code). Fill it in within 3 days (72 hours) before you arrive, save the QR code on your phone and show it with your passport. It is free: never pay a third-party website for it. It is NOT a visa.

2. Visa: check which one you need

Many nationalities can get a Visa on Arrival (VOA) or apply online first (e-VOA, usually faster at the airport). Others are visa-free or need a visa before travel. The VOA/e-VOA fee is being raised in 2026 - check the current fee and the eligible-country list on the official e-Visa site, and apply only there. A visa or arrival card never guarantees entry: the immigration officer decides.

3. Customs: what you may bring in

Your customs declaration is now part of the All Indonesia arrival card. Typical limits for adult visitors are about 1 litre of alcohol and 200 cigarettes, and large cash amounts (IDR 100 million or more) must be declared - exact limits change, so check the customs site. Drugs are strictly forbidden, with very severe penalties. Drones, large electronics and medicines with narcotic ingredients can need paperwork - check the customs site before you fly.

4. Bali tourist levy (Bali only)

Foreign visitors to Bali pay a one-time levy of IDR 150,000 per person per visit (adults and children). Pay online before you fly at the official Love Bali site or app, or at the airport. Keep the voucher QR code - it is checked at the airport and at some attractions. Pay only on the official site.

Also good to know

Passport: most visas require 6 months' validity and a blank page. Keep a photo of your passport, visa and return ticket on your phone. Overstaying is fined per day and can lead to deportation and a ban.

Rules, fees and websites change often. We check these pages regularly (last check: 10 October 2026) but always confirm on the official site before you travel. Satu Koneksi Hotel is not responsible for third-party websites.
