Entry
Travel sources say Indonesian citizens can visit Ecuador for tourism without a visa for up to about 90 days, but none is an official page - confirm with the Ecuadorian foreign ministry or embassy before you book. Bring a passport valid for 6 months, a return ticket, hotel details and proof of funds. The Galapagos Islands have extra rules: reported as a Transit Control Card (about USD 20) and a separate national park entry fee, with a shorter allowed stay (reported 60 days) - check the Galapagos National Park site and your operator.

Culture and safety - take note
Ecuadorians are polite and formal: greet with a handshake or a cheek kiss. Quito is at about 2,850 m - rest on the first day and drink water. Safety has become a concern in some regions and cities: check Kemlu and other advisories before you go, use official taxis or apps, keep valuables hidden and avoid walking at night. In the Galapagos follow the park rules strictly: stay on the trails, keep your distance from animals, never touch or feed them, and take nothing - not even shells or sand. Visit the Amazon with a licensed operator; ask a doctor about yellow fever and malaria. Tip about 10% where a service charge is not included. Halal food is limited.
