Entry
Most sources say Indonesian citizens need a visa for Ghana, applied for at the Ghanaian embassy or consulate before you travel (allow about 1-2 weeks; reported fee about USD 60-100, stay about 30 days). One site claims an online authorisation instead - check with the Ghana Immigration Service or the embassy before you book. Bring a passport valid for 6 months, a return ticket and hotel details. A yellow fever certificate is required for entry. Ask a doctor about malaria prevention.

Culture and practical - take note
Ghana is known as one of Africa's friendliest countries - 'Akwaaba' means welcome. Greet everyone, shake hands (with the right hand) and greet elders first. Dress modestly. Sunday is church day and many places are quiet in the morning. Ask before photographing people. At the Cape Coast and Elmina castles, which are memorials of the slave trade, be respectful and listen to the guides. Drink only bottled or treated water. Use ride-hailing apps in Accra and avoid walking at night. Laws on same-sex relations are strict - governments warn travellers. Tip about 10% in restaurants. Halal food is easy in Accra and in the Muslim-majority north.
