Entry
Travel sources say Indonesian citizens can visit Kazakhstan for tourism without a visa for about 30 days per visit (with a limit of 90 days in any 180 days), but these are not official pages - confirm on the government portal or with the Kazakh embassy in Jakarta before you book. Typically you need a passport valid for the stay and an onward ticket. Foreign visitors are registered by their hotel - keep the slip and your passport with you.
Culture and practical - take note
Kazakhstan is Muslim-majority but relaxed and secular, with a nomadic heritage. Take your shoes off in homes. Hospitality is central: accept tea and food, and expect a lot of it. Greet elders first. Do not photograph military or government buildings, and ask before entering border areas. Distances are huge - domestic flights and trains are the practical way to travel. Winters are very cold (Astana can reach -30 C), summers hot; spring and autumn are comfortable. Cards work in the main cities, but carry some tenge for villages and markets. Halal food is widely available. Almaty and its mountains are the favourite tourist base.
Emergency
112 for all emergencies. Police 102. Ambulance 103. Fire 101.
