Entry

Travel sources say Indonesian citizens can visit Serbia for tourism without a visa, but the stay length they quote ranges from 30 to 90 days and none is an official page - plan on 30 days and confirm with the Serbian foreign ministry or the Serbian embassy in Jakarta before you book. Serbia is not part of the Schengen Area. Bring a passport valid for 6 months, a return ticket, hotel details and proof of funds. Foreign visitors must be registered with the police within 24 hours - hotels do this for you, so keep the slip.

Culture and practical - take note

Serbs are warm, direct and love long meals; a toast with rakija is common. Most are Orthodox Christian: cover shoulders and knees in churches and monasteries and follow the signs about photography. Smoking indoors is still common. Avoid political topics, especially about Kosovo and the 1990s - the issue is sensitive, and some governments advise caution near the Kosovo boundary, so check Kemlu and other advisories. Tip about 10%. The currency is the dinar - euros are not generally accepted. Belgrade has lively nightlife; keep your valuables safe and use official taxis or apps. Halal food is limited outside Belgrade and Novi Pazar.
