Entry
Most sources say Indonesian citizens need a visa for Zambia, usually an e-Visa applied for online before travel (the single-entry fee was reported to rise to about USD 50 in 2026), while one site claims visa-free entry - confirm with the Zambia Department of Immigration or a Zambian embassy before you book. The KAZA Univisa (Zambia plus Zimbabwe, for Victoria Falls) is only for certain nationalities, so check whether it applies to Indonesians; if you cross to Zimbabwe, it has its own visa rules. Bring a passport valid for 6 months and a return ticket. A yellow fever certificate is needed if you arrive from a risk country. Ask a doctor about malaria prevention.

River wilderness for canoe and boat safaris past elephants and hippos, facing Zimbabwe's Mana Pools across the Zambezi.

Culture and practical - take note
Zambians are known for being peaceful and polite: greet with a handshake and ask about the person's family. Dress modestly in towns. Victoria Falls is wettest from about March to June and driest from September to December, when the Devil's Pool swim may be possible - only with licensed guides, and never alone. Follow the guides on safari and on river activities. Ask before photographing people, and do not photograph government or military sites. Tip guides and drivers. Halal food is limited outside Lusaka.
